Introducing our new Director and Assistant Director
His Love’s board of directors is excited to announce that Wendy Fuhr, who is currently our Assistant Director, has been named our new Director. We are also thrilled that Joan Salsbury, currently our Administrator of Advancement, has been named our new Assistant Director.
Both Wendy and Joan began in their new roles immediately following the June 18 board meeting, with Joan working limited hours until September 1 due to previously scheduled summer plans.
“I have worked personally with Wendy and Joan for many years,” said Ruth. “They are very capable and very passionate about the mission and clients of His Love. As soon as our board began discussing them as candidates for the Director and Assistant Director, everyone felt an immediate sense of confidence about this next phase in His Love’s ministry. We’re very grateful for their willingness to serve and for God’s faithfulness!”
Wendy volunteered at His Love for three years before accepting the position of Assistant Director in 2015. Her family has always been her biggest passion. She loves to bring families closer to each other and to show them the love of God. She is gifted at hospitality and has a way of making each one a part of the family of His Love.
Joan has been serving as our Administrator of Advancement since early 2013, helping to communicate with our donors and our supporting churches and coordinates His Love fundraising events. Joan has lots of experience organizing volunteers and events as she serves as a pastor’s wife. Joan will continue the excellent work she has been doing with her current tasks and add some of the Director’s administrative tasks. She is excited to be able to get to know some of our clients and volunteers more personally as she spends more of her hours during open hours at the center.
